The atmosphere is bubbling with excitement as the FIBA Basketball Pre-Olympics gets underway in Lagos, Nigeria.
The 8-team tournament will take place from August 14th to 20th, 2023, at the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos, Nigeria.
Nigeria ranked the best in Africa is grouped with tough opponents in Group A where they will have the runners-up at the last FIBA Afrobasket championship, Senegal, Mali and Uganda to fight against for a place in the semi-finals.
In Group B, DR Congo, Cameroon, current champions of the FIBA Men’s African Championship, Tunisia and Guinea will slug it out for a place in the semi-finals.
It is the ‘Winners Take All’s format as the winner will pick the sole ticket of Africa at the 2024 Olympics in Paris, France.
