As against earlier communication, the Edo Football Association Electoral Committee has made some changes regarding the upcoming election for the Edo Football Association board, platinumnewsng.com is reporting.
In a press release made available by Alohan, which was signed by the electoral committee, headed by Prof. Darlington Obaseki, these new changes were communicated with the general public.
The election into the board of the Edo Football Association is scheduled for Wednesday, October 4th, 2023, will now hold at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City.
As earlier communicated, five contestants for the Chairmanship position have been screened and cleared by the electoral committee. They are Johnbull Edosomwan, Egbon Victor, Erhunmwunse Newton Fred, Emmanuel Edekin Imiere and Benjamin Oweri
For the Vice Chairmanship position, Mr. Kindness Ohiowere was cleared as the sole candidate
Amadin A. Stephen, Micheal Uhunmwangho, Mikhail Osakpamwan Igbinovia, Charles Olubayo, Paul Obozu Ojeisokhoba, Faith Ojiaga and Kennedy Ugbodaga were all cleared for board members.
A total of 25 voting delegates will participate in the election, consisting of 18 LG football council chairmen and 7 statutory delegates as specified in the Edo FA statutes. The statutory delegates are: Representative of the Edo Referee Council, Representative of Nigeria football coaches association Edo state chapter, Premier league (men) representative – Bendel Insurance FC, Women Premier League Representative – Edo Queens FC, Nationwide League men representative: To be decided, Women Amateur league representative: Fortress Ladies FC, State league Club Representative: Bendel Insurance feeders FC.
In the press release it was revealed that during the election process, there will be a Manifesto session where chairmanship aspirants will be given twenty minutes each to address the delegates, press, and observers on their vision for association football in Edo state.
