Team Edo ended its quest for slots at the 22nd National Sports Festival ball games on a flying note after securing eight slots in five ball games in both male and female categories.

The team, though played host to four other states from the South-South region of the country, joined others to fight for glory and have themselves present to contest for honours in Abeokuta, later in the year.
The competition, which started on February 24, 2025, ended Thursday afternoon with the “Igodomigodos” smiling at the end of it all, though they expressed dissatisfaction with not securing all available game slots.

The team competed in male and female categories of ball 8 ball games namely Handball, Beach Volleyball, Football, Cricket, Volleyball, Basketball, Hockey and Abula and was hopeful of securing all sixteen available slots.
However, at the end of the competition Thursday afternoon, team Edo succeeded in securing 5 sports tickets; unfortunately, they failed to succeed in Basketball, Abula and Hockey.

The ball games in which the club qualified are Volleyball (female), Beach Volleyball (female), Football (male and female), Cricket (male and female) and Handball (male and female).
Team Edo, having secured the tickets, will now proceed with intensive training ahead of the festival scheduled for May 2025.
