India 2022: Flamingos Thrash Galatasaray Women In Friendly Match

Nigeria’s U-17 women’s team, the Flamingos sent a stern warning to its opposition at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup with a 3-1 victory over Galatasaray Women in a training match on Saturday.


Coach Olowookere Bankole’s side enjoyed a comfortable victory in Kocaeli, Turkey courtesy of Opeyemi Ajakaye and a brace from Etim Edidong. The Turkish ladies only pulled one goal in the encounter scored by Ebru Topliv in the 44th minute.


The Nigeria girls on Monday, 26th September began a 10-day training camp in Turkey and will jet off for India from Istanbul on 6th October for the World Cup.


Nigeria’s first match of the campaign is against Germany in Goa on Tuesday, 11th October, starting at 8 pm India time (4 pm Nigeria time). The Flamingos will then square up to New Zealand on Friday, 14 October also in Goa, before flying to Bhubaneswar to take on Chile on Monday, 17th October
