Ishmael Taofeeq commends team’s effort in win, sets personal target.

Nigeria U23 hopeful Ismaheel Taofeeq believes that Beveren were worthy winners as they put Lierse to the sword at Herman Vanderpoortenstadion on Sunday evening.

Beveren fought from a goal down to win the game 5-1. And the winger has insisted that his team were worth the three points.

Ismaheel Taofeeq lasted the full duration and was exciting at the flank.

“Lierse were a complicated opponent,” he told reporters. “But we remained calm and I think we deserved the win.

“We came out with a very good attitude. We knew it was important to get victory.”

Ismaheel Taofeeq who is on loan from Lorient has provided three assists from nine league games this season.

“I feel better with each game, but I know what I can offer and I’m aware that I can still make improvements. Let me say that I’m only at 60 per cent…”

“Now we have two tough games coming up, but I’m hopeful. We are working as a team and everyone is giving their all.”

Challenger Pro League table toppers, Beveren have 27 points from 13 games.
