Nigeria’s Super Eagles head coach, Jose Santos Peseiro, has landed in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, getting ready for Thursday’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Lesotho, platinumnewsng.com is reporting.
Peseiro, accompanied by his foreign assistants Maykel Moreira, Acacio Santos, and Vitor Hugo, was warmly received by Prince Bonny Nyong, the Chairman of the Akwa Ibom State Football Normalization Committee, at the Victor Attah International Airport.
As the team’s camp officially opens today, Sunday, Nigeria is scheduled to take on Lesotho on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, kicking off at 5 pm.
Having called up 23 players for the World Cup qualifying fixtures against Lesotho and Zimbabwe, eight players are set to join the camp on Monday, with the remaining fifteen arriving on Tuesday for the first full training session leading up to the crucial match.
