The Utteh community linking Ikpoba-Okha and Uhumwonde local government areas was on Monday thrown into wild jubilation as Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo flagged off a 4.7km Utteh Palace road, in fulfilment of his electioneering promise to the people of the area.
Governor Okpebholo said he has keyed into the renewed hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to construct more roads in the State, as well as touch other sectors.
The Governor recalled that he was in the area about three months ago, during his campaigns and had promised to fix the road.
Governor Okpebholo, said he was back to the area in fulfilment of his electioneering promise to address the challenges posed by the road to businesses and residents in the area.
“I was here about three months ago during my campaigns. When we came, the situation of the road was very bad, but I promised the community that when we come into government, we will fix the road and make it motorable for our people.”
“We are here to keep to our promises to flag off this road and make it a road that our people can ply and will be happy with. We are walking in the steps of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”
The contractor handling the project, Risen Fan, said his company will work with the State Government and the host community to ensure its timely completion.
“We will deliver a good job with high standards and on time, too. We will work with the Government to bring more innovations and investments to the State in different areas namely Agriculture, ICT, Education, Healthcare among others,” he said.
