Lack of concentration cost us the game – Paul Offor

Head coach of Sporting Lagos, Paul Offor after a 1-0 loss to Bendel Insurance on Thursday evening has blamed lack of concentration from his players and the pitch for his team’s loss

The Naija Super 8 winners who are touring the South-South region with games to play against Warri Wolves and Bayelsa United, faced a stern test as they could not hold the Federation Cup winners in the club friendly. Ismael Sarki eventually got the winner in the 90+3 minute from a header that beat Sporting Lagos’ goalie.

Speaking after the game, the coach blamed his players for lack of concentration.

“The pitch was not good, but it’s a pre-season game. I’m not happy we conceded at the last minute, it’s because of a lack of concentration. That’s why we are here to see what we need to work on.”

When asked about the new season in view, Paul Offor expressed his disappointment in the league postponement while speaking on the club’s target.

“By postponing the league, you are extending our pre-season which is not good for us.

“We aspire to win our next game and the next after it.

“This is Sporting Lagos We have our target we are not Remo Stars, neither are we Bendel Insurance. We want to make our fans proud and excited about the kind of football we play.”
