The ongoing Nigeria National League Super Eight playoffs saw Beyond Limits and Nasarawa United remain top of the Southern and Northern Conference tables respectively after match day 2 in a battle for qualification to the top flight.
The competition which is taking place at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu, registered nine goals across all centres with five of the goals scored in the Southern Conference fixtures.
Madiba FC 2-1 Inter Lagos
Coach Gabriel Ezema’s side went into the break with a 1-0 lead but failed to secure a point after conceding two goals in the second half. Goals from Solomon 62′ and Peter 82′ gave Madiba FC the needed victory. The result means Madiba FC goes second in the log with three points.
Beyond Limits 1-1 Ikorodu City
Kparobo Arhierhi gave Beyond Limits the lead in the 5th minute but Ikorodu City leveled courtesy of Ajeyigbe Toyeeb’s strike at the stroke of halftime. Oga Boys, Lagos City, missed from the spot in the 71st minute as both teams shared the spoils. The result keeps Beyond Limits top of the Southern Conference table with four points.
El Kanemi Warriors 2-1 Sporting Supreme FC
We saw some poor refereeing in the last game of the day as the referee awarded Elkanemi a controversial penalty after overlooking what seemed to be a penalty for Sporting Supreme.
Nasarawa United 1-0 Sokoto United
Nasarawa United sits pretty on top of the Northern Conference table after match day 2. Sokoto United remain bottom of the log without a point after losing to Sporting Supreme in match day 1.
