Nigeria National League (NNL) side Warri Wolves Football Club has trimmed its squad in preparation for the second stanza of the league, as a new technical adviser is expected to be announced, platinumnewsng.com is reporting.

The club via a press release officially announced the commencement of its training camp on Sunday, February 11th, 2024, as it seeks to improve its standing in the league.

In a strategic move to rejuvenate the team following a lacklustre performance in the first half of the season that saw the team positioned 10th with just 11 points from 10 matches, Warri Wolves FC has decided to overhaul its roster.

According to the press statement by the club’s media officer, Oris Lilian, and a subsequent letter from the club’s secretary, Ukah Chukwuma, the club will be parting ways with 11 players while retaining 19 from its existing squad.

The retained players, who have been deemed crucial to the team’s aspirations, include Joke Elvis, Shedrack Okere, Ekene Joseph, Ingo Festus, Ofem Emmanuel, Sodiq Okunlola, Bakare Emmanuel, Faruk Imade, Adebayo Emmanuel, Wohuruche Victor, Osigwe Ekene, Akaba Tega, Anugbuo Loveday, Adigwe Victor, Onochie Bright, Amatesiro Shemaye, Iliya Manasseh, Saheed Olaniyi, and Cletus Alex. These players are expected to form the core of the team as it embarks on the second stanza of the NNL season.

Adding to the anticipation of a revitalized campaign, a new Technical Adviser is set to join the Warri Wolves, bringing fresh perspectives and strategies to the team. The club has also hinted at the introduction of new players to strengthen the squad further. Training under the new Technical Adviser is scheduled to begin on Monday, February 12th, and all players, both retained and newly signed, are required to report to camp, with the club emphasizing that any absence will result in disciplinary actions.

Warri Wolves currently sit on the Conference BBlog with 10 points from eight games.
