Head Coach of Bendel Insurance, Monday Odigie has accused the media of always quoting him out of context after Bendel Insurance goal goalless draw against Enyimba International in matchday 21 of the Nigeria Premier Football League, platinumnewsng.com is reporting.
Speaking with the media in a post-match interview after a barren draw at the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium, the coach refused to answer certain questions as he accused the media of always quoting him out of context.
“I don’t want to say anything so that I will not be quoted out of context, that’s what you guys always do,” Odigie said.
Odigie became a household name in the NPFL after Bendel Insurance’s 2-2 home draw against RS Berkane in the CAF Confederations Cup second preliminary round qualifiers.
The coach instantly went viral after he was quoted saying “Football is not about participation. It’s not about winning.”
Ever since then, the coach has always trended on different matchdays for wrong reasons.
