…leave fans in admiration of continuous league progress.

The cycle of away wins in the 2024/2025 edition of the NPFL continued on Saturday as Nasarawa United and Sunshine Stars FC defeated their opponents in their backyard in the first matches of the Matchday 4 fixtures, platinumnewsng.com is reporting.

Nasarawa United kicked off proceedings on Saturday as they bounced back from last weekend’s home defeat to El-Kanemi Warriors to secure a hard-earned 2-1 victory over Ikorodu City FC at the Mobolaji Johnson’s Arena in Lagos.

The Solid Miners dominated a larger portion of the first half, with Anas Yusuf scoring in the 44th minute to take his goal tally to five in four games before ThankGod Chilaka even scored three minutes into the additional time as both sides headed into the interval all square.

Despite James Faith’s incredible goalkeeping display for Ikorodu City, Nasarawa United sealed the win with a superbly struck free-kick by right-back Kabir Balogun in the 64th minute, sending the visitors into a frenzy.

This victory for the Solid Miners moved them to 6th position on the league table with five points, while Ikorodu City remained rooted in the bottom with one point from four games.

For Sunshine Stars, they edged past Akwa United 2-1 at the GodsWill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, to move to the 2nd spot in the league standings with 7 points, leaving Akwa United in 12th position with 2 points after four games.

The coach Kennedy Boboye’s lads were leading 2-0 in the game, with goals from Chinedu Nwosu in the 19th minute and Seth Mayi in the 81st minute before Wisdom Ndon of Akwa United halved the lead two minutes later to make the scoreline a respectable one.
