NVBPL2023: Funding is critical for development – Melandi

With the second phase of the 2023 Nigeria Volleyball Premier League commencing on Friday in Abuja, the Nigeria Volleyball Federation board has maintained its stance to the growth and development of the game in Nigeria, platinumnewsng.com is reporting.

According to NVBF Technical Director, Chief Martin Melandi, on the official facebook page of the volleyball federation, he noted that amazing things should be expected in the phase of the league.

“We acknowledge the challenges in our selfless quests to ensure that volleyball is properly developed in Nigeria. This board of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation remains committed, despite the perennial paucity of funds bedevilling the development of sports in Nigeria.

“Without adequate funding and preparations, our various national teams cannot achieve our desired goals.

He so noted that the league champion will qualify to represent Nigeria at next year’s African Club Championships.

Meanwhile, In the men’s opening matchday, Nigeria Police Force will take on NSCDCvwhile Offa VC will go heads in with COAS Spikers.
