NWFL Adjust Kick-Off Date Once More to Meet CAF June 12 Deadline

To align with the June 12 deadline given by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), the Nigeria Women’s Football League has announced yet another adjustment to the kick-off date of the NWFL Super Six.

This decision comes as part of a concerted effort to meet the crucial deadline set by CAF for the country to provide its representative for the CAF Champions League zonal qualifiers.

According to the NWFL, the league has faced a series of challenges and logistical complexities in recent weeks, necessitating the need for several scheduled amendments. While initially planned for an earlier kick-off of May 5, 2023, the maiden WAFU-B U20 Women’s Cup in Ghana, held from May 20 to June 3 in Kumasi prompted the need for flexibility in the tournament planning.

The 6-day tourney was postponed to June 9 – June 18, 2023, but will now kick off earlier than expected on June 6 – June 11, 2023. All the participating teams are expected to arrive on or before the 5th of June.

The participating teams are Bayelsa Queens, Edo Queens, Confluence Queens, FC Robo, Rivers Angels, and host Delta Queens.
