Ex-Nigeria International Desire Oparanozie disclosed that she has been conferred with an honorary member of the Imo State Football Association on her X handle on Monday.
The former Super Falcons striker who recently announced her retirement from professional football, has confirmed that she is now an honourable member of the Imo State Football Association, in recognition of her achievements and services to the country and that of the state.
“Over the weekend I was conferred as an Honorary member of the Imo State Football Association. Special appreciation to the Imo State FA Chairman and its executive committee members for such an honour. A recognition I do not take for granted. Long live Imo State”, Oparanozie wrote.
The 29-year-old was part of the Super Falcons squad that featured at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, where she had her fourth appearance at the Mundial tournament after making her debut at the 2011 edition in Germany, also helped in clinching four Women’s Africa Cup of Nations titles for Nigeria in 2010, 2014, 2016 and 2018.
