Edo State Sports Commission Executive Director of Operation and Sports Development, Mrs. Sabina Chikere, has added to her feathers of recognition.
Office of the Director of Sports, University of Benin Students Union, Tuesday feted the astute sports administrator for her contribution and part in the development of sports in Edo State.
The award was presented to Mrs Sabina in her office, by the Director of Sports, University of Benin, Comrade Offornedu Michael Osinachi, during a courtesy visit.
In her remarks, Mrs. Sabina thanked the students and the office of the Director of Sports for noticing her little efforts in shaping sports in the state and for recognizing her with the award.
She stated that this is a positive charge for her to do more, especially for the youths and sports in the state and that she will be taking up the challenge not to fail those who know and trust in her ability.
Earlier, Comrade Michael, while presenting the award, commended Mrs Sabina’s effort in the development of sports and youths in Edo state.
He prayed for long life and sound health for the Director, to be able to continue to contribute greatly to the development of the state and country by extension.
“Your performances are worth more than this award. Your work rates aren’t purchased or show off, but they are genuine efforts borne out of your pure love for the growth of sports and especially the youth in the state.”
“Our prayer is that God will keep you alive in good health and sound mind, to be able to continue on this marvellous job you are doing.”
Mrs. Sabina Chikere who served meritoriously as the Permanent Secretary of the Edo State Sports Commission with concrete success, now sits as the Executive Director, Operation and Sports Development at the same Commission and has so far been pushing her weight behind few successes recorded so far under the administration of Executive governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo.
