Edo State Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu, Thursday decorated a police officer attached to the government house, office of the deputy governor, Yusuf Fori Bwala, with his new rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police, ASP 1 amidst cheers by officials of Office of the Deputy Governor, ODG and colleagues from the Nigeria Police Force, NPF.
The decoration of ASP Bwala followed his promotion as approved by the Police Service Commission (PSC), for deserving officers with requisite experience, years of dedicated service and appropriate academic records.
Yusuf Fori Bwala was until his new promotion to the rank of ASP1, an ASP 11 in the Nigeria Police Force.
In his remarks at the ceremony, the Deputy Governor charged the newly promoted ASP Bwala, to continue with his dedication to service and uphold the tenets of the police reforms, while emphasising respect for fundamental human rights and the rule of law as enshrined in the Nigerian Constitution.
He congratulated the officer, noting that the promotion was well-deserved.
Shaibu tasked ASP Yusuf Bwala to bring his wealth of experience to bear in his new rank in tandem with his assigned responsibilities.
According to him: “I thank the Commanding Officer of Police Mobile Force, MOPOL 5, for the collaboration with Edo State Government and allowing ASP Yusuf Bwala to be deployed to my office as ADC. Your leadership has been very tremendous and I hope the relationship continues”.
Continuing, the Deputy Governor said: “ASP Yusuf Bwala, that which you have been doing that didn’t earn you any query, but accolades and promotion, please continue doing it. However, you must step up your service and more work needs to be done”, Shaibu added.
Also speaking, the Commanding Officer, of Police Mobile Force, MOPOL 5, Ogida Barracks, Benin City, Assistant Commissioner of Police, ACP Habib Rabiu, commended the Deputy Governor and Edo State Government for all the support over time while admonishing the newly promoted officer to continue with the service that gave him the recognition.
The highlight of the event was the formal decoration of ASP Yusuf Fori Bwala with his rank by his Principal, the Deputy Governor of Edo State, Rt. Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu, assisted by the Commanding Officer, MOPOL 5, followed by a photo session.
