…urges children to emulate her good virtues

Edo State Deputy Governor, Rt.Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu, joined family members, friends, and associates of Alhaji Luqman Mohammad at the 40-day fidau of his late mother, Alhaja Aminu Garuba Mohammad in Jattu-Uzairue, Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State.

The Deputy Governor, who is a friend of the deceased son, described the late Amina Garuba Mohammad as a rare personality, urging his children to emulate her good virtues.

He said, “you’re nobody until you do the will of God. Whatever you want to do without thinking about your next-door neighbour, forgetting the greatest commandment of God, which says, ‘love your neighbour as yourself; it amounts to disobedience to the will of God”.

“If we can love our neighbours as ourselves, then we have practically fulfilled a large part of God’s commandments”.

“Luqman Mohammad and his siblings typify the virtuous life Mama Amina Mohammad lived”.

“Luqman, living a great life, from being a member of Edo State House of Assembly, he rose to the position of Chief whip. Later, he was a board member of the Edo State Oil and Gas Producing Areas Development Commission, EDSOGPADEC, and now with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC. He has the connections”.

“Indeed, Mama lived a good and fulfilled life and our prayer is for God to reward her in heaven for her good virtues on earth”, Shaibu added.

Delivering his lecture, an Islamic scholar, Mallam Barr. Nurudeeen Asunogie said: “you can’t own a property when you’re dead. That is why you must live a life of solitude for those we’re better than”.

Earlier, the deceased son, Rt. Hon. Luqman Mohammad said his mother meant the whole world to him while on earth.

“She gave me life and good education. She mentored me and cared for me when I was sick and hungry”.

“I miss her counsel, companionship and I feel empty right now without her. She has always been my reason for coming home frequently.”

“Who are we to question God after living for 77 years? We all shall part ways someday. But we thank God for the impactful life she lived and left behind”, Hon. Luqman added.
