Season 7 of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) CMD Inter Professional Cup is set to make its grand return on December 9th, 2023 with 16 professional bodies vying for glory within a time frame of 23 days, platinumnewsng.com is reporting.
The ambiance at UBTH was electric on Sunday evening as the draws for the tournament were conducted with representatives of the teams present, setting the stage for the enthralling clash set to go down. The 16 participating teams have been grouped into four groups consisting of four teams.
Embracing a round-robin format, the tournament will providie each team with a fair chance to compete for glory. The top two performers from each group will secure their passage into the knockout stages where the tournament will get more intense.
UBTH CMD Interprofessional Cup is a brain child of UBTH’s Chief Medical Director, Professor Darlington Obaseki with the view of ensuring recreation through sports, for the professional bodies within Edo State. The matches will hold daily at the renovated University Of Benin Teaching Hospital Mini Stadium. The final will hold on January 1, 2024.
