Edo Queens Football Club forward, Esther Chioma Moses rose to her heroine status on match day 4 of the Nigeria Women Football League Premiership Super Six after scoring a late goal against Rivers Angels, to hand Edo Queens a huge advantage over two other teams for the 2025/2026 league title
The goal getter’s goal proved more than a goal, but a visa to the title after recording a 2-1 win over hosts, Rivers Angels at the Adokiye Amiesimake Stadium.

Oscar Precious had given the former champions a super lead, coming off the bench in the first half to score in the 39th minute with what was her first opportunity.
Rivers Angels, courtesy of another substitute, Abasiofon Uwah levelled terms in the 72nd minute of the game.
Five minutes later, it was Chioma Moses O’clock! The forward once again proved why she is the league’s current hottest forward — a poor clearance by Rivers Angels goalkeeper, who attempted to stop Kafayat Mafisere’s cross from the right flank fell to the path of the Super 6 top scorer who wasted no time in lobbing the ball into the back of the net to send her team into wild jubilation.

Chioma Moses tops the Super Six goals chart with seven (7) goals in four games, a player of tournament form. She opened her goals account at the tournament with two goals against FC Robo Queens, earning them a 2-1 win. She continued the hot form against Abia Angels with a double brace on match day three, inspiring her team to a 6-2 win. She increased her tally to seven goals with yet another winning goal against Rivers Angels in match day 4 of the tournament.
With the win, Edo Queens now lead the title race with 9 points and one hurdle to cross and get the crown for the second time in three years.
Up next for Edo Queens is Bayelsa Queens in what could be tagged as the grand finale match, scheduled for Sunday June 14.
