Edo State Sports loving deputy governor, Rt Hon Comrade Philip Shaibu has been invited by the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA), to grace the 2022 FIFA Best Awards scheduled for Paris on February 27, 2023.
The FIFA Best Awards night is an annual award night where the best players, coaches, teams and administrators are feted by the world soccer governing body, for their contribution to the round leather game both on and off the field for the year under review.
Recall that Shaibu has on occasion been invited by the World football governing council to different programs which include the World Cup draws and the tournament in Qatar amongst others.
The invitation to the Deputy Governor – one of the few Nigerian VIPs invited for the awards – is a result of his immense contributions to sports development, especially football in the last decade.
The letter dated Monday 20th February 2023reads: “Dear Mr Shaibu,”
“It is our pleasure to invite you to the annual celebration of football’s greatest stars, the Best FIFA Football Awards™, which will take place at Salle Pleyel in Paris on 27 February, 2023.”

The invitation meanwhile covers every event which includes Welcome Cocktail, The Best FIFA Football Awards Show and the Best FIFA Awards after-party scheduled for the Awards night.
