Nigerian striker, Oluwatosin Omoyele Alabi scored twice for his team, USM Khenchela as they beat Aso Chlef 2-1 at home to maintain close sight of continental places in the Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 1 standings of the 2023/2024 season, platinumnewsng.com is reporting.
The former Enyimba FC striker joined up with the Algerian outfit on a permanent deal from Kastina United in 2022 and has recently found his scoring form in the league this season after struggling in his first season with USM Khenchela.
The 27-year-old striker found the back of the net for his team just a minute after halftime. The lead only lasted for two minutes as Ahmed Mohamed Kerroum pulled an immediate equalizer to pile up pressure for the home team.
Tosin pulled a man-of-the-match performance as he netted beautifully a second goal in the 90+2nd minute of the game to secure maximum points for USMK.
The victory leaves USM Khenchela with 16 points, having won 5 drawn 1 and lost 5 in 11 matches so far in the league this season. Though their points so far leave them in the 7th position on the log, they are still well within sight of continental places if they improve from here on as they are just three points away from being 2nd on the table.
