AFCON 2023: Leicester City Rules Out Nigerian Star For Three Months

Leicester City manager, Enzo Maresca has confirmed that Wilfred Ndidi is expected to be on the sidelines due to injury for the next three months, platinumnewsng.com is reporting.

The Super Eagles midfielder who missed out of actions for the Foxes in their last two EFL Championship games with an injury and was eventually replaced this week with Alhassan Yusuf, a Royal Antwerp midfielder in José Peseiro’s 25-man squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations as a result of the setback.

Ndidi, however, has been a prominent figure this season for the English second-tier division table toppers, who currently hold a 10-point lead at the top of the league standings. Moreso at the time of this report, the manager stated that he is awaiting a more detailed assessment of the Nigerian’s injury.

”Probably for Wilf, it will be a long time. It could be three months. It looks like a muscular problem, but an important one, so we will see in the next hours but the situation for Wilf is probably the clearest one,” Maresca told reporters.
