With a few days to the CAF Confederation Cup first preliminary round first leg encounter with Bendel Insurance football club of Nigeria, the Association Sportive Olympique de Chlef (ASO Chlef) has announced Abdelkader Yaiche as the new head coach.

The appointment of Abdelkader Yaiche came a few days ago after the Algerian side parted ways with former Coach, Lyamine Bougherara who left his role on 31st of July, 2023 after guiding the team to the Algerian Cup triumph.

69-year-old Abdelkader Yaiche who has been out of work since June 2021, takes over as the coach of the Algerian side, resumed training Sunday, August 13, and has been reshaping the team to fit into his football philosophy.

The former USM Algers’ youth team coach has previously led the affairs of clubs like RC Kouba, CA Bordj Bou Arreridj, USM Blida, MC El Eulma, CR Belouizdad and other teams all in Algeria.

The new coach will be supported by assistant coach Abdelhak Belaid, who until last Friday led the preparation of the team for the CAF Cup match, which will take place on August 19 at 4 p.m. in Benin. City, South West Nigeria.

Meanwhile, the team is billed to depart Chlef Wednesday for Algiers where they will train for a day before departing for Lagos, Nigeria on Thursday 17th August abode a private flight before connecting to Benin City.
