Unable to find the back of the net in today’s encounter, Nigeria’s Champions, Enyimba International will not be at the CAF Champions League as the team’s hopes of advancing to the second round of the preliminary rounds have hit the rocks.

The People’s Elephant had earlier suffered a 4-3 loss away from home against Libya’s Ahli Benghazi, returning home with high expectations.

Despite dominating at the Enyimba Stadium in Aba, the hosts struggled to overcome Ahli’s defensive strategy. The first half ended without goals, as Enyimba faced a resilient Libyan defence.

The second half saw Enyimba pushing hard to break the deadlock, but Benghazi remained resolute in defence. Despite the referee adding 6 minutes of extra time, the former African champions couldn’t find the needed goal.

Enyimba bows out of the competition with a 4-3 aggregate score against them.
