The Nigerian Female U20 football team edged past Tanzania in a 3-2 aggregate win to secure spot in the next phase of the Confederation of African Football U20 Women’s World Cup Qualifiers platinumnewsng.com is reporting.

The Falconets defeated Tanzania 2-1 at the Moshood Abiola Stadium after playing a 1-1 draw away at the Azam Stadium last weekend.

With both teams having something to fight for, the home team sriked first in the 15th minute after Janet Aikekoromowei converted from an assist off Ajakaye Opeyemi. The visitors soon got their rhythm and 5 minutes later, they drew level Jamila Rajani scrambled one in past Shukurat Bakare.

The game continued after the second half with both teams trying to secure the lead and more importantly the win and in the 60th minute Comfort Folorunsho headed home and put Christopher Danjuma’s team ahead and were able to secure victory with the lead.

The Falconets will square up against Burundi for a place in Columbia 2024.
