…as Shaibu woos electorate to vote PDP candidates
Ahead of the upcoming 2023 general elections slated for next week, 25th February and 11th March, Edo State Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu, has charged eligible voters in the State to elect all candidates on the platform of PDP, even as he described the flag-bearers of the party as credible and experienced persons, who mean well for the people.
The Deputy Governor, who led the PDP Edo North Campaign Rescue Team to Owan West Local Government Area, described the umbrella party as the only solution to the numerous challenges confronting Nigeria today.
According to Shaibu, “Nigeria needs a President that is mentally and physically alert and Atiku Abubakar is the only Presidential Candidate with a clear-cut plan and blueprint for restructuring Nigeria”.
“We do not need a President that will be licking the microphone and bringing reproach to Nigeria on the international scene”.
The Deputy Governor emphasized that the people do not need another President that will use Nigeria as an experiment, as Atiku Abubakar is the only Presidential Candidate that has the needed experience to lead the country out of poverty, insecurity and the economic crisis the APC-led Federal Government has plunged the nation into.
“We can not continue with APC which has led us to a situation where you are unable to withdraw your own money from the bank. We need to vote for all the PDP candidates, from the President, Senate, House of Representatives down to the State House of Assembly, to deliver us from the current anti-people policies”.
On the PDP Vice Presidential Candidate, he said: “Governor lfeanyi Okowa is one of us and his mother is from Edo State. Edo can’t afford to abandon one of its own. Okowa is one of us and the Edo people will be proud to have one of us as the Vice President of Nigeria. That is why we have to join hands and ensure that all the PDP candidates are elected in the coming election”.
Addressing a mammoth crowd of PDP supporters in Sobe, the Deputy Governor described the incumbent Senator and PDP candidate for Edo North Senatorial District, Francis Alimikhena, as a man with maximum capacity to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people.
“He has done it before; he will do much more again. 2023 offers the opportunity for the people of Owan to position themselves to take over as the next Senator. The only way to realize that dream is by voting for Senator Francis Alimikhena”, he added.
Earlier, during a courtesy visit to the royal palace of Odibiado of Sobe Kingdom, HRH Anthony Ero Alburu 1, who spoke through the Secretary of the Palace, Chief Larry Enahoro and other Chiefs in the kingdom, assured the Deputy Governor and his entourage that “PDP will be delivered in Owan West Local Government area in the forthcoming general elections”.
The monarch said the PDP House of Assembly candidate, Hon. Blessing Agbebaku was a tested and trusted hand, whose victory the people will ensure in the forthcoming election.
The traditional ruler also described the PDP House of Representatives Candidate and former Commissioner, Hon. Jimoh Ijegbai, “as a man who has displayed enough capacity to earn the confidence of the people”.
The Palace unanimously commended Senator Francis Alimikhena for his projects in the locality, while expressing optimism about about the capacity of all the PDP candidates in the forthcoming general elections.
“Sobe community is traditionally a PDP stronghold. We can assure you of our collective votes”, the monarch and his palace chiefs added.
