Eghosa scores 5th goal of the season as Granada beat CF Rusadir.

Eghosa Bello continues his impressive run in the colour of Granada over the weekend as he scored his 5th goal of the season in his team’s 2-1 away win over CF Rusadir.

Eghosa who joined the Spanish outfit from Rolly FC of Benin has not looked back since making his debut for the side with 5 goals in four matches already to his name.

Granada went down 1-0 as early as the 8th minute of the game when Alcala found a bonus-like ball that fell his way to put his side up.

Granada took over the game and had a series of chances created, but none could be converted in the first half. The team came close on two different occasions in the first half, but the team’s right back and left back missed the chances by whiskers.

The away team restarted play in the second half and continued pushing for an equalizer against a very stubborn and ruthless defence.

Eghosa, serving as a line striker for his side picked up a pass from the midfield, and drove his way past four markers before his ball was interrupted by a defender who failed with his clearance – the ball fell back to Eghosa and he was left with the goalkeeper in a one on one situation to put the ball at the back of the net and restore parity for his side, six minutes into the second half.

The coach made a substitution by sending in a Migue Sierra to complement the Benin-born upfront. The left-winger had barely settled in when a ball fell to his path and he didn’t fail to send his team ahead with his first touch – an outside-the-box shot- of the game in the 65th minute.

Eghosa had another chance to add to his team’s lead when he scored a beautiful goal from an acute angle, but the referee ruled out the goal for what the technical bench of Granada remained the mystery why.

Another goal was scored by Granada shortly before Eghosa was substituted in the 85th minute, but was also ruled out by the referee.

The 18-year-old who is rated to cover 36.25km per hour has now scored 5 goals for his team this season in four matches at the ongoing Division Honor Juvenile league.
