Team Edo keeps its dominance over other teams in Women’s Rugby in Nigeria intact as the team rode to the final of the First Women’s Rugby Sevens ongoing in Asaba after putting the host team, Delta to the sword in a clean sweep.
Imoisi Abuovbo scored the first Try with Auguster Mene recording a conversion. Okpitikpi Becky scored the second Try to seal a 10-0 victory for team Edo over their Delta counterparts.
The team had defeated Benue Buffalos 27-0 in the quarter-finals to set up a semi-final clash with Team Delta who also brushed aside Anambra Angels 7-0.
Team Edo has kept clean sheets in all games played from day one and has scored 110 points en route to the final dispatching Imo Pyramids, Abia Rugby Team, Benue Buffalos and Delta.
On the other hand, their opponents in the Final, Eco II have also enjoyed a very good run to the final.
The invisible Team Edo will be playing the Eco II Rugby Team of Lagos in the thrilling Finals of the First National Rugby Tournament in Delta State. The match is billed for 4 pm today at the Stephen Keshi Stadium.
