From the 2024 South-South Female Cricket League, a Coach of the Nigeria senior women national cricket team, Sarah Bhakith, shared her optimism for the future of Nigerian cricket, platinumnewsng.com is reporting.

Amidst the backdrop of fierce competition and spirited displays of talent, Idia Royals Cricket Club (CC) clinched the championship title defeating the reigning champions, Smashers Cricket Club in Benin City, Edo State.

Speaking with Sharon Ekhiwere of Platinum News, the a coach of the national team revealed the tournament is a melting pot of young and seasoned players, and has offered a unique spectacle this year, with an array of talents that have not only captivated the audience but also provided a broader selection pool for the national team’s coaching staff.

“It has been an amazing experience seeing the young players and the experienced players showcase their talent,” Bhakith remarked.

“We have seen very good talents and potentials. Also a pool of players for the coaches to choose to join the national teams”

The South-South Female Cricket League 2024 has indeed been a breeding ground for talent, and with strategic insights from the coaching staff, including Bhakith, the future of Nigerian women’s cricket looks brighter than ever.
