The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has moved to clarify the prize money for winning the league, officially confirming that the champions will receive a prize of ₦150 million.
This announcement comes in response to recent claims and multiple reports circulating on social media regarding the true amount of the league’s prize money.
In a communication dated September 24th, the NPFL league organizer, The Nigeria Premier League, through its Chief Operating Officer, Davidson Owumi, provided clarity on the prize money situation.
According to the letter, the ₦150 million prize represents the league’s true value and has been reviewed accordingly.
“After due deliberation by the Chairman and our Strategic Partners, it was agreed that the Prize money, since it is what connotes the true value of the league, be reviewed to N150 million,” the letter stated.
This confirmation sets the record straight and dispels any uncertainties surrounding the league’s prize money.
