NPFL24: League Resumption shifted by two weeks

Just like the Nigeria Women Football League Premiership, the Nigeria Premier Football League has shifted the resumption date of the NPFL to February 14, 2024, platinumnewsng.com is reporting.

In a letter dated January 30, addressed to all NPFL clubs by the Chief Operating Officer of the league, Davidson Owumi, the league will no longer resume on February 3 but, on February 14. According to the letter, the league organisers is yielding to “public demands and national interest for the resumption of the second stanza”.

Many indications even in the letter points towards the ongoing 34th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations currently going in Cote d’Ivoire.

“Be informed therefore that a new date of February 14th has been decided for the commencement of the second stanza of the season. This decision was reached to capture the full attention of players, fans, and all other stakeholders at this time of prime African football tournament.” the letter read.

Lobi Stars are top of the NPFL log with 36 points.
