Team Edo Tennis player, Lorelay Holzendorff has set for herself a new target as a teenage Tennis player after inking her name in glory at the ongoing National Youth Games in Asaba.
Lorelay Holzendorff beat Aina Goodnews of Team Ekiti 6-1, 6-2 to claim gold for Team Edo in the Tennis Female Singles.
The 12-year-old in an exclusive chat with Platinumnewsng.com expressed her delight in winning gold at the games she attended for the second time, a target she set for herself before coming for the competition.
“It makes me feel very happy to have won the gold in this competition.”
“Before the Youth Games, I set a target for myself that I must win a gold because I lost out at the quarter-finals in the last Games.”
The Junior Secondary School class 3 student however set for herself a new target ahead of the next Youth Games she will be competing in.
“I want to win a gold medal in the next one I will be competing in – that’s my next target.”
The City’s Pride School student while thanking her Coach and the Edo State Sports Commission hinted at how she ventured into the game of Tennis.
“I started playing Tennis while I was a baby and my Dad also encouraged me to play this game.”
Lorelay, a German Father and Nigerian mother’s child added that she wants to become like her idol, Serena Williams in the future.
