It was a goal-scoring party at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo on Sunday, the Super Eagles triumphed over Central African country, Sao Tome and Principe at the sixth game of the qualifying series for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Already assured of qualification, the Eagles initially needed only a draw to secure the top spot in Group A. However, they delivered an impressive performance that delighted the home crowd, resulting in a convincing victory.

Victor Osimhen initiated the scoring in the 13th minute and went on to complete a remarkable hat-trick with goals in the 69th and 79th minutes, bringing his total goals in the series to an impressive 10.

Contributing to the impressive scoreline was Ademola Lookman with a goal in the 28th minute, Taiwo Awoniyi finding the net in the 52nd minute, and substitute Chukwueze sealing the victory with the sixth goal in the 85th minute.
