The Edo State Football Association election scheduled for Wednesday October 4, 2023 has been indefinitely postponed, platinumnewsng.com is reporting
The election was postponed due to the controversies surrounding the choice of venue amidst other inconsistencies.
Recall that a statement was issued on Saturday, September 30th, detailing the venue as the Air Force Base, Airport Road, Benin City and the removal of some eligible candidates – this was however countered by another statement signed by the Chairman electoral committee, Professor Darlington Obaseki. In the new statement, the listed eligible voters and procedures were noted in accordance with the statutes of the Nigerian Football Federation.
Expectedly, some of the voters and candidates were seen at the stadium on Wednesday morning, waiting for the commencement of the election as scheduled, while others were said to be awaiting the commencement proper before hitting the venue.
However, the information reaching platinumnewsng.com has it that the elective congress has been postponed till further notice.
