Roberto Calenda, agent to Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen, has issued a legal warning to Napoli following the club’s social media mockery of the striker, platinumnewsng.com understands
Napoli had posted a TikTok video showing Osimhen missing a penalty against Bologna, accompanied by a high-pitched voice saying “gimme penalty please.” Although the post has been removed, Calenda expressed his intent to take legal action to protect Osimhen’s rights.
Calenda stated, “We reserve the right to take legal action and any necessary steps to safeguard Victor. What occurred today on Napoli’s official TikTok profile is unacceptable. A video mocking Victor was initially published and then, albeit belatedly, deleted. This is a serious matter that inflicts significant harm on the player, compounding the challenges he has faced recently with media scrutiny and false reports.”
Osimhen’s recent frustration was evident when he questioned manager Rudi Garcia after being substituted in the 86th minute of a goalless draw against Bologna.
The Nigerian international, who joined Napoli in the summer of 2020 for a club-record fee of 81.3 million euros, played a vital role in their Serie A title win last season, scoring 26 goals in 32 league appearances.
Despite being linked with Chelsea and Manchester United during the summer transfer window, the 24-year-old has scored three goals in six appearances this season.
