Draws for the 2023 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) has been concluded and the Super Eagles of Nigeria has been placed in Group A alongside hosts Cote d’Ivoire.
The 2023 AFCON marks the 34th edition of this prestigious biennial African association football tournament, which is organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and will hold in Cote d’Ivoire.
Equatoral Guinea and Guinea Bissau were also drawn alongside the three-time African champions and host country.
The opening match will see the hosts, Ivory Coast, take on one of the Group A opponents. As the tournament progresses, the top two teams from each group, along with the four best-ranked third-placed teams from the initial six groups, will advance to the round of 16. From there, the competition will move forward with quarter-finals, semi-finals, a match for third place, and the final.
