Nigeria’s only representative in the CAF Confederation Cup, Rivers United has been compelled to relocate its home games away from the Adokie Amasiamaka Stadium in Port-Harcourt, platinumnewsng.com is reporting.

This decision comes after recent updates from the Confederation of Africa Football revealed that the Port Harcourt Stadium did not receive approval for hosting CAF competitions.

The approved venue for Rivers United’s home games will now be the Goodswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo. This stadium, situated in Uyo, the capital of Akwa Ibom State, was also the chosen venue for the team’s home matches during the previous season of the competition.

Rivers United recently secured a spot in the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup after a convincing 2-0 aggregate victory over Etoile Filante of Burkina Faso.
